Thanks for this honest report. I am an American who is turning 70 this Spring and feeling I am too old to consider a move, especially one this challenging. My kids and teenage granddaughters have considered it though, which could make a difference. In the meantime, I do plan on spending my big birthday in Paris. I am curious about Parisians attitudes towards Americans. When I was there in 2017 I wore a small white button with the red circle and line through the name of our now again president. What should I do, be prepared for?
Parisians always love a good political discussion, but I'm never made to feel uncomfortable for being an American (even though I occasionally apologize for it anyway)

I'll be in Paris the first week in April. Might look for long-term rentals.
